Here in Southern California, it’s a rainy day which means one thing, everyone is craving a warm drink. To get in the festive-holiday spirit, pour yourself a cup of hot cider, stay indoors (that is if your a student like me or if you don’t have work), and watch a movie. The recipe for a perfect rainy afternoon!

I love everything about the holidays and one of my favorites is pannetone. I had some for breakfast this morning with coffee. If you have never tried this delicious Italian holiday treat, you must. Pannetone is a type of sweet bread that has dried fruit and sometimes raisings inside. It is wonderful for breakfast or dessert and is mostly consumed in Italy during the holidays—around Christmas and New Years. The good news is that most markets (and even Costco!) carry Panettone so try it this holiday season, you’ll be glad you did.
Enjoy!

Wondering what to wear to after Thanksgiving shopping and weekend events, go the classic route like Kirsten Dunst (above). Try a floral print dress with a bright coat and pumps, or for a more casual look, a pretty pair of flats. If you are in a cool weather environment, wear tights to keep warm. Keep jewelry minimal and hair simple so you can head out the door in a jiffy.

Try an elegant twist this Thanksgiving and rather than put out just cheese and crackers, add some olives, grapes, dried fruit, or hard meats to the cheese platter. Your guests will surely enjoy these scrumptious treats before the grande dinner.
The photo above from Woman’s Day can give you some ideas on how to present your platter. Most importantly, to enjoy your time in the kitchen, personalize your food for the holiday and it will be that much more special.

Red Worn Right!
Since the holidays are slowly approaching, red will become a staple in the wardrobes of many women. Take a cue from Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, red should be worn with a simple design, clean lines, and minimalist accessories and makeup. Let the color and design of the wardrobe shine and you will look ravishing.
